NCO camp 2010

The NCO camp ended with a bang. Good improvement started to be seen in the secondary 1 and 2 squad during the later part of day 2. As instructors successfully inculcated the meaning of 'team work' in the cadets. Not only did cadets move as one, they looked out for each other and took care of each other periodically - as opposed to the first day, when cadets cared only about their well being.

Campfire was great with new ideas pouring in. It started with a fire bird descending gracefully in to the camp fire. The cadets never failed to produce good standards in their performances. The theme 'comedy night' was a novelty, and definitely appealed to all after a tough day in camp.

The fun didn't end there. In the wee hours of the 3rd morning, cadets were awoken. On falling in, they realized a fellow cadet was missing! Everyone in the unit (yes, instructors too) were in a state of panic and started looking all over for the missing cadet! In this activity, cadets learn how to work as a team, and how important it is to look out for one another.

When it was time to break camp, all instructors went around shaking the hands of campers and had a good private conversation with as many campers as time would allow. This was a great time for campers to know, through the 3 days camp, what was observed of them from their activities.

It was a great camp and all were reluctant to leave. Nevertheless, time soon came for all to wave our goodbyes and return home for a good rest.

Well done everyone, Instructors and campers. Have a good break before the school reopens in 3 weeks. Also, a reminder to complete your school homework! (:

Sec1s, please get together to exchange notes copied and received during the Crime Prevention Lecture. You are required to hand up your project on the first training of the year 2011.
