those who still have no idea what 1970 means, its important!!! ask your friends.
Yesterday, we had a great time hiking through Singapore's sunny island, Sentosa. The day started great with heavy rain... Gosh.. we so wanted to continue lying in bed didnt we? haha.. but even more appealing was the hike that we wanted to start.
Reaching Sentosa, Officers, CIs, NCOs and cadets were already itching to make a move from the start point. Once everything were accounted for, everyone decided to move to the first check point.
On reaching the first check point, the groups were told to think of a group name and cheer. The four groups were: xiong xiong, wild fire, penguin army, and sotongs of the sea. So the groups cheered to hype up the event. "Xiong xiong here, xiong xiong there, xiong xiong everywhere!" went one group, while the group beside were cheering to the tune 'purple light'... "purple light... in the mountains...with my penguin, my army and meeee...."
Teams were then asked to play a short caterpillar game and bury one of their team member in the sand.
Once the first check point was over, cadets had to proceed to the next check point on their own. The game was played such that at each check point, a clue will be given to the team members in the form of pictures. Teams will then guess the next location based on the pictures.
Around 1pm, it was time to break for lunch. Look at this... awesome food! Mummy's love from home. yummy!
After lunch, bottles of water were filled up. The unit hydrated together and then we moved out again. we made our way to one of the last check point- the Sentosa nature discovery walk. Here cadets had to find out the names of various bugs.
We walked quite a distance on the elevated walk way. It was built on top the old monorail line.
Soon, time was running out. We took a bus to the bus coach area and switched bus to the one which would bring us back to HIHS.
Indeed, it was a tiring day of hike. Everyone did well. This is one of the first major events conducted by the NCOs and it deserves a round of applause. Well done NCOs! Well done Cadets! Not forgetting the officers and CIs who helped to make the event possible.
===============================I caught something quite funny when i looked through the pictures.
Have a great holiday!
