CampCraft Competition 2008 Results

Dear Cadets,

first of all, I would like to thank the both teams including all reserves, CIs, SNCOs, supporters and TOs for their contribution and support for the past few months in preparation for this competition.
I am very pleased with the results though the top 10 teams were stronger than us.
Here are the results:

1. Boys - 23rd placing with a score of 60.60 % and
2. Girls - 14th placing with a score of 66.36 %, short of just 1 % to be in the finals.

The girls have done exceptionally well and I believe both teams had put in their best. And with this consistent effort and improvement, we have a good chance in 2010.

Combined UG Camp (13th to 15th March) *Updated

Dear Cadets,


as most of you have been informed this morning, the school is organising the 1st combined UG camp during this March holidays.
The main objectives:

• To foster stronger relationships between different UGs
• 1st UG camp for the sec 1 cadets

All of you should have the consent forms with details are in there.

Some of you have approached me because of other commitments during the holidays. My focus is more on sec 1 cadets so I allow some degree of flexibility for sec 2 - 5 cadets. The affected cadets will participate some actitivites and therefore just need to pay less.

All sec 1s will be staying overnights and you'll be sleeping in classrooms on the gym matresses. For the other cadets, I am still trying to arrange such that you will be dismissed around 9 pm.

Area 7 is supposed to have the High Rope Challenge (HRC) on 12th March. But because some of you are involved in the LTC and sec 1 combined UG camp, it will be very tiring for you. Thus we will be joining another Area instead. Date to be confirmed.

Inter UG Games 2008 on 15 Feb

Dear Cadets,

I would like to thank all those who have participated in the games and those who had helped in one way or another in the competition.
We have clinched 1sts for both lower and upper sec in Captain's Ball, and did quite well for the other two games as well.
There will be more Inter UG competitions during the march holiday, where you participate in the combined UG camp. Keep up the good work!

CNY and Campcraft Competition (Updated as of 17 Feb)

Firstly, I wish all chinese cadets a Happy Chinese New Year 2008. Hope the non-chinese also had a great long break.

Important updates (as of 17 FEB):

1. Campcraft competition dates have changed. Boys will be on 23rd Feb, Sat and Girls will be on 1st March, Sat.
2. Timing still remains. Boys at 0900 hrs and girls at 1530 hrs.
3. Location: HTA, soccer field (no longer Old PA)
4. Transport Provided: 40+ seater bus. Two-way. 23rd Feb, 0730 leave school and 1st March, 1400 leave school
5. Public Transport: 172, 975 (CCK MRT)
6. All cadets (Sec 1 to 5) are welcomed to give their support.
7. Previous record (if I remembered correctly): Boys came in top 20s in year 2006

Dear Cadets,

as mentioned in the briefing on last friday, I would once again like to welcome sec 2s to 5s back again and our new sec 1s to HIHS NPCC unit.

Main issues mentioned were:

Currently, the unit urgently needs the blogger, photographer and video camera person. This is to enhance the way we publicise whatever we have achieved in every event or training.

*For sec 3s, currently there's some problem booking your dry practice for wed. Thus this means that we may not be able to do live shooting with the rest of area 7. Will update you once everything is confirmed.
